Ellipsis math at Sunset elementary
While most students will benefit from this program, students who like math and commit to positive thinking and participation will benefit the most. Ellipsis Math is designed for students who enjoy math enrichment above the normal curriculum.
At Sunset Elementary, we offer Ellipsis Math program for fifth graders and advanced fourth graders. Programs will focus on math topics and practices in which prepare students to compete in a number of local and statewide math competitions. Students will work independently as well as in teams. All interested students are invited to take a placement test on October 7(Wednesday) at 1:15 - 2:15 p.m.in room 20.
Depending on the number of kids qualified, we will have either Ellipsis 4, Ellipsis 5, or both.
Qualified students will be asked to join the appropriate program and will represent Sunset Elementary at various math competitions. Students must be self-motivated and ready to learn and participate. There will be weekly assignments, and students are responsible to complete them on time. Assignment may take about one hour or more per week. Many topics discussed will be above their current grade level.
Program requires a year-round commitment.
