Ellipsis Math
Ellipsis Math programs are a series of group classes (starting from level 2 through Geometry) led by experienced coaches. These classes are specifically designed and proven to:
Each class level is 1 year long consisting of 2 semesters: Fall and Spring. Each semester is 16 weeks long and classes meet weekly for 90 minutes. Each class has a maximum of 12 or 14 students depending on location.
Enrollment Process
Enrollment is first come first serve. Many of our classes become full very quickly and so we recommend parents to look at the schedule ahead of time and be ready to enroll when they receive the enrollment email. Class schedule and fee structure can be found HERE
Enrollment is per semester and there is continuity between Fall and Spring. Students who are enrolled in the Fall semester classes will have enrollment priority for the Spring semester. We will hold their seat for 5 days before releasing it to new students. New students who want to enroll for the Spring semester, will need to take the Spring placement test.
Ellipsis Math Levels
The Ellipsis Math levels are more advanced and deeper than most schools'. Each level gradually advances and deepens student’s math skills and so, we recommend that students start early so that the learning curve is not too steep. The chart below illustrates the Ellipsis Math Level in relation to student's grade.
- Gradually advance and deepen student’s math skills and prepare them to excel on the school’s accelerated Math pathways (leap 1 to 3 grade math levels).
- Develop student’s critical thinking, logic and problem-solving skills by coaching them on various problem solving strategies and how to apply their math skills to solve word problems.

Enrollment Process
- Placement test: All students who are interested in our Ellipsis Math classes (including returning students) are required to take our FREE Placement test. This is to ensure that all students are appropriately challenged and placed in the right level. Information about this year’s placement test can be found HERE.
- Results notification: Parents will be notified ahead of time when (exact date and time) the result will be available and emailed to them.
- Enrollment link: Once the result is available, parents will receive an email with a link to enroll to the Ellipsis Math classes that the student qualifies for. If a student doesn’t qualify, an option would be to enroll for Ellipsis FlexMath and then try again for the Spring semester. You can learn more about Ellipsis FlexMath HERE

Curriculum
Our proprietary curriculum is advanced and rigorous; it is specifically designed and proven to advance and deepen students math, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ellipsis Math students typically tested one to three grade levels higher in Math than their school peers.
Our curriculum is based on Singapore Math which has been adapted to advance and deepen student’s math skills and ensure their success in the U.S schools math pathways. Our curriculum focuses not only on solid understanding of Math fundamentals, but also on developing student's problem solving and critical thinking skills. You can learn more about our curriculum and approaches HERE.
Accelerated Math Pathways at School
Many schools provide an opportunity for students (typically towards the end of 6th grade) to take an Algebra Placement test. Depending on the student's score on this test, along with their math grade and SBA score, they can get invited to join Algebra class (or even Geometry class) in 7th grade. Please note that Algebra is typically a 9th grade math class and Geometry is typically a 10th grade math class.
Ellipsis Math students are prepared to potentially leap 1 to 3 grade higher in math to take advantage of this opportunity which enables all of the great benefits listed below.

Ellipsis Math Benefits
- Build a strong math foundation
- Strengthen problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Prepare students to potentially leap one to three grade level higher in math and enables them to:
- Take college level Math and Science classes in high school (AB and BC Calc) which are equivalent to at least one year of calculus at most colleges and universities. This also enables students to take other AP science classes such as AP Physics which is also equivalent to at least one semester of Physics at most colleges and universities.
- Financial gain for parents. Many colleges and universities will take credit transfer of AB and BC calc along with other AP science classes thus providing significant financial gain for parents.
- Start taking SAT/ACT much earlier and better equipped to get high scores that top colleges and universities require.
- Opportunity to attend various math competition events
- Increase Confidence
- Experience team building
- Belong in a group with similar interest
- Have fun with math games and group activities
