A thank you note to one of our coaches: Dear Ms. Lee, thank you so much for teaching me math, especially calculus and pre-calculus. Your teaching has enhanced my understanding of problem solving and allowed me to succeed in all my high school math classes (I just took my AP Calc BC exam yesterday)! Now, as I near the end of my senior year, I want to let you know that the many hours I spent learning math and practicing have not been lost on me. I appreciate all the time you took to teach me, and I owe my current understanding of mathematics to you. All the best, Tony.

We love how Ellipsis Math program continues to challenge my daughter. My daughter is in Quest, but she was really being challenged throughout the past few years. The problem-solving materials were really good and made my daughter improves her critical thinking. The online classes have worked well for her, and she has enjoyed the advanced topics covered in class as well as the assignments.

A note to one of our coaches: Happy new year! I hope you are doing well. I’m Krithi a student you tutored for math a while back. I just wanted to send you an email thanking you for all the effort you put in to help me with math. I’m currently in AP Calculus AB at my school and without your help I would have really been struggling in the class. You taught me how important it is to understand the logic behind the math and trained me to think in creative ways to solve a problem. Thank you so much for working with me! Best, Krithi

We have been attending classes for the last 3 years. Among many mathematical clubs, we note a permanent highly organized teaching staff. Very highly and methodically planned material. Necessary entrance testing to understand where the child is and the aria of his knowledge. The first half of the year we were on Flax math to catch up with the class. The rest of the time attended classes. Very intensive summer programs. There is homework to be done. We are very satisfied with the quality and price.

We are very happy and grateful to Ellipsis academy for my kids' math advancement! One of my kids did Ellipsis math for 4 years and Flex math for a year. Ms. Katie has been so encouraging and overall, it is a great fit. She is friendly, explains the concepts very well and expects a lot. My other kid started with Ms. Caitlin 5 months ago and has had a very good experience overall.

Outstanding services and value!
Our middle school student is learning advanced mathematics with Kateryna over multiple years. Thanks to Kateryna's devotion and support they built a really unique relationship that helped us to be ahead of the HiCap classes' program and always get As.
The critical part of this success was that these flexible math classes are really interesting to the student (even during remote lessons with COVID lockdowns) thanks to the coach - thank you very much, Kateryna!

Ethan started from hating Math and doing this class into loving it every week. I remember when he started in Ellipsis in 4th grade, he complained every week when he had to go to class. But now I don’t have to remind him his homework and his class every week. It’s amazing to see his transformation and you were a big part of it. We are grateful for your dedication and your patience in teaching.

My 7-year old son, Adrian, has been attending Ellipsis FlexMath for almost a year now. He has had great experiences with two fantastic coaches: Caitlin and Terry. Caitlin quickly adopted to his shy nature getting him excited about math at such a young age! When Caitlin went back to school, Terry found a way to motivate Adrian even when teaching virtually. Adrian really looks forward to every session that is highly individualized for his level of engagement and builds on previous class. I am so thankful that we have found this program. It builds and reinforces strong fundamentals while keeping math interesting. It does not have mundane repetition and instead focuses on critical thinking and creativity in math that can be applied to other subjects in upper classes. Thank you Elly and the teachers at Ellipsis for your fantastic work!

Ellipsis Academy has helped me grow as a student tremendously. As a Cambridge student I was kind of worried that the FlexMath sessions wouldn’t help me or I would just end up more confused on the topics because of the different methods they might teach me. But I was wrong. In fact, thanks to my coach (Coach Jim) I was able to gain easier methods of solving harder math problems, such as solving differentiation and integration problems, and the extra practice with a tutor really helped boost my confidence in my math class. My math grades have definitely improved ever since I joined Ellipsis Academy.

Ellipsis Math is a great enrichment program for kids who have a special interest in Math. The teachers are very qualified and keep the class engaged. They encourage students to actively participate in class and provide incentives for doing so. They follow a pretty rigorous curriculum and the homeworks that are given are also very thought-provoking and interesting. Teachers also provide feedback to parents on the topics that are taught in class. Ellipsis Math organizes an annual Math Challenge Tournament that my son absolutely enjoys. They also share details of other Math Tournaments and Festivals happening in and around the Seattle area. My son Robert attended Ellipsis Math 5 and enjoyed the class a lot. He was always excited to go. In addition to teaching different math concepts, his math teacher, Katie, taught the kids mental math skills and prepared them for math competitions. Trishla took 6th Grade Math In Action classes from Elly in 2011-2012. To be honest, while signing up, Trishla wasn’t sure that Math was ‘the’ subject where she would prefer advance coaching. But during the course of the year, she got inspired by Elly and completed the fairly rigorous coaching with flying colors. Trishla particularly remembers the fun they had during probability/ permutation combination classes where they learnt how to apply these principals in practical life. Trishla also treasures the life skills she picked up during these MIA classes with intense teamwork that was required for team competitions like Math kangaroo, Math is cool, and Math Olympiad. Trishla is currently in ICS 7th grade and thanks to the MIA coaching she is able to manage her rigorous ICS Math curriculum with ease. Elly is an inspiring coach and got the best out of her students. I would recommend MIA for all budding students who want to excel in Math.

My name is Ken Mincin and Elly coached our son Milo during his fifth and sixth grade years at Rockwell Elementary. It made an immediate impact on his understanding of math. Besides their math studies, the group also took part in a few math competitions. It was new to them and they had no idea what to expect. When they came home with numerous trophies, they realized that they indeed belonged. The knowledge and confidence they gained from Elly, along with putting in that extra time in MIA after school with her, was well worth it. It had helped immensely in Milo's transition into junior high school and his being able to take an advanced math course there. He continued on that road, basically being a year ahead in math, all through junior high. He is now a sophomore at RHS and has a firm grasp in his math studies.

He was confident about the math skills he learned from Elly. He learned that there were always many ways to solve a problem. He appreciated to be part of a team and realized hard working is necessary to achieve his goals. He did all the practice on his own without us asking. Elly's diligent working attitude has a positive influence on my son that went far beyond just math. When we moved to Rockwell in 2010, we were so lucky to be able to get in to Elly's afterschool math class (Math in Action Class). My daughter enjoyed her experience very much. At the beginning, it was hard she said and a lot of more assignments than she's used to. But in the end she said it was worth it. It gave her an edge and confident. She transitioned well to Algebra 1 class in seventh grade.

Thanks,

It was a privilege to have a dedicated math coach like Elly for my daughter, Anika! She made math fun, making my daughter want to attend the math club class every week. She offered incentives for the children who wanted to work above and beyond the weekly homework. The coaching prepared my daughter for the math in the next grades and for the math competitions the group excelled in. Elly kept the children motivated.
Thanks,

My son (Garvit M) likes doing math problems and he enjoyed MIA Program thru school (Norman Rockwell) in 2011-2012. It was an excellent opportunity to participate in the afterschool class taught by Elly Sarwono. As a Coach, she taught math in a very scientific way, by following the process of students thinking and strategies, rather than formula based. This makes Math FUN while establishing a strong foundation for higher math.

My daughter was in a math team that Elly coached back in 2006-2009. Elly taught her not only about math but also about hard work, perseverance, and believe in herself. Elly took her team to a number of competitions and brought home trophies and plaques for Rockwell. She had a blast!

By attending Elly's classes of Math in Action my son became very fond of math. He was looking forward excitedly to each session every week. It was a privilege to be able to attend Elly's class and we were very grateful for what she taught our son.

Elly is a fabulous math teacher. My daughter attended Elly's class during her third, fourth, and fifth grades. My daughter gained a huge amount of competence and confidence with math, all while having fun. My daughter said, "It was really fun because we got to play math games, and all the practice helped cement my learning, and prepared me well for algebra". Elly is passionate about math. She instills a love of math which continues to yield invaluable results, even years down the road.
