Terms and Agreements
Please read the agreement thoroughly before enrolling your student to Ellipsis Academy. Enrolling means that you agree to the following Terms and Agreements.
The following terms constitute an agreement (the “Registration Agreement”) between Ellipsis Academy (“Ellipsis”) and “You” or “Parent/Guardian” for a “Student” and "Student" who are enrolling to attend a “Program.” You agree to the following:

The Student agrees to follow rules and regulations set by Ellipsis. Parent/Guardian and the Student understand that violation of any of the rules and regulations is grounds for immediate dismissal, without refund. Ellipsis reserves the right to take any action it considers warranted by what Ellipsis deems is necessary due to the circumstances. Actions that are not allowed and referred to as violations include, but are not limited to the following:
In-Person Learning
To ensure that everyone has a safe and engaging experience while attending our physical classroom, all students are expected to know and follow the following safety protocols:
Face covering
Building access
Cleaning and disinfecting
Individual learning materials and writing instruments
Staying home when sick
Students must stay home if showing symptoms of COVID-19. In addition, parents should monitor their students who have been exposed to an individual with COVID-like symptoms and, if they become sick, stay home. To protect your student, other students and coaches and staff from potential illness, please keep children at home when they are too sick to attend a class. Please review the links from various school districts below on how to determine if your child should stay home:
Switching to online
When it is not safe to have an in-person learning, it is possible that the class is switched to online.
If there is a new restriction by CDC or by Washington State
In-person classes will change to Online classes if indoor gatherings are not allowed. We will follow recommendation by CDC or the State.

- Acknowledgment of Risk: Parent/Guardian is aware of Student’s individual health issues or needs and find Student is physically and mentally fit to independently participate in the Program.
- Hold Harmless: To the fullest extent permitted by law, you hereby release, waive and forever discharge, and/or agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Ellipsis Academy, its trustees, officers, directors, coaches, and volunteers against all claims, both present, and future that may be made by you, your family, estate, heirs or assigns, arising out of or resulting from Student’s participation in the Program. ‘Claim’ refers to any financial loss, claim, suit, action, damage, or expense attributable to bodily injury, sickness, disease, death or personal injury, or property damage. Participation in the in person learning Program could cause possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including but not limited to MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19. Parent/Guardian is aware and understand such risks.
- Attendance and Class Time: Parent/Guardian will notify program’s coach in advance if the Student cannot attend a class or if a Student is leaving class early. You agree that your Student will attend all classes. Tuition is not prorated as a result of missed classes. Students are expected to arrive on time in order to make full use of the class time available. Late arrivals cause distraction. Ellipsis Academy is not responsible for student supervision outside of class time.
- Conduct and Discipline: Students are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly manner and to treat those working around them with respect. Students whose behavior is disruptive to the class will be removed from the classroom, and their parents will be notified. The directors and coaches reserved the right, at their sole discretion, to withdraw any student whose influence or actions are deemed unsatisfactory or detrimental to the class or who will not abide by the Student Code of Conduct. If this occurs, no reduction or return of fee, or any part thereof, will be made. Please review below Student Code of Conduct for Online-Learning and In-Person Learning.
- Cancellation and refund: Parent/Guardian has reviewed and acknowledged the cancellation and refund policy stated in our Policies page.
Student's Code of Conduct

Actions that are not allowed and referred to as violations include, but are not limited to the following:
- Using inappropriate language or behavior
- Disruptive during classes
- Bullying in all forms
- Threatening fellow Students, Coaches, Directors, or anyone at Ellipsis
- Using references that are demeaning to anyone or any group of society
In-Person Learning
To ensure that everyone has a safe and engaging experience while attending our physical classroom, all students are expected to know and follow the following safety protocols:
Face covering
- Starting Monday, March 21, 2022, face coverings are optional for coaches, students and staff.
- All in-person coaches are vaccinated and had the booster as well.
Building access
- Lobby is closed and restroom is only open for students and coaches.
- Door to the Overlake center will be locked when class is in session. Students who are late will need to ring a doorbell and our coach will let them in.
- Parents to escort students into and out of the building for all visits to the center. Ellipsis Academy does not assume responsibility for students dropped off in the parking lot or anywhere else outside our center.
- Parents to pick up students on time as students are not allowed to congregate in the lobby.
Cleaning and disinfecting
- Tables and other high touch areas will be wiped clean with disinfectant wipes after each class.
- All students need to use the provided hand sanitizer (located in the lobby) before they go in to class.
Individual learning materials and writing instruments
- Sharing of student personal items such as pencil, eraser, and other devices are discouraged. Students in our Ellipsis Math program will be given a binder on first day of class to keep printed classwork. Students need to bring their own personal writing instruments (pencils/pens, erasers, etc.) and a dedicated notebook.
Staying home when sick
Students must stay home if showing symptoms of COVID-19. In addition, parents should monitor their students who have been exposed to an individual with COVID-like symptoms and, if they become sick, stay home. Class Time
- Classes will begin on time so please plan to log in about few minutes before the scheduled start time.
Set Up
- Avoid setting up in a noisy place or where people are constantly passing by. Prepare notebook and writing instruments.
- Do not use other devices during class including mobile phones, game systems, etc.
- As you will be on camera, please dress appropriately. Camera needs to be ‘on’ during the class.
Online Class Requirements
- Computing device (Windows, MAC, iOS, Linux, etc.) with:
- Microphone, speaker or headset and camera
- Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, etc.)
- Browsers need to enable Cookies and JavaScript
- Good internet connection
During Class
- Do not eat during the class as this can be distracting to others.
- As you may be asked to share your screen, we ask that only class-appropriate apps are running and that your desktop background image, file names, etc. are appropriate.
- Mute your microphone when you’re not talking as this helps avoid echoes and random background noise being broadcast into the classroom. When you do speak, please speak clearly so everyone can understand you.
- Whether you are talking on camera or using chat, always be respectful to everyone in the class.
- Any communication with the instructor or other students should be related to class topics, not memes, spam, or inappropriate material.
- Please stay seated and present during class.
- If you do need to leave, please let the instructor know that you are stepping away from your computer.
- During lessons, you can “raise your hand” or ask your question in the chat window.
- Due to privacy and security reasons, classes will not be recorded.
