Ellipsis FLEXMATH Coach​

Do you want to make an impact and inspire young students to become innovators, problem solvers and great thinkers? Are you passionate in working with kids? Do you want to apply your teaching and math knowledge in a fun and dynamics environment? If the answers are yes, then you are a candidate that we are looking for!

Ellipsis Academy provides high quality STEM enrichment programs for grade 2 to 12 students. These programs are implemented based on our distinctive advanced curriculum and proven systematic approach that focuses on building strong number sense and problem-solving strategies.

This position is a paid contract position
 with competitive compensation for coaching Ellipsis FlexMath sessions (maximum of 2 students per class).  Ellipsis FlexMath is a math enrichment and advancement program that is custom tailored each student’s pace. 

Our ideal coach would have the competency, experiences and passion in working with elementary students in mathematics and willing to learn about our teaching approach, rigorous curriculum and materials.


This is also an exciting opportunity for college students who are working toward their teaching degrees as well as retired teachers and professionals who are looking for a direct part-time involvement in children mathematics education. You can work as little as 6 hours per week.​ 

This is a great opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life by teaching math and making math exciting and fun!
Requirements:
  1. Excellent communication skills and ability to connect with children.
  2. Passionate about math and working with children.
  3. Have strong math skills up to Pre-Algebra.
  4. Ability to break down complex problems into simple explanations.
  5. Fast learner and willing to learn our rigorous curriculum quickly.
  6. Dedicated, patient and compassionate.
  7. Have some experiences in class management and working with a group of children between the ages of 6 to 15.
  8. Have authorization to work in the US.
  9. Will be checked for background through the school district.
  10. Have a Bachelor’s Degree or a Junior/Senior in College.

Responsibilities:
  1. Coach an effective Ellipsis FlexMath session using our distinctive and advanced method and curriculum to a group of elementary students (max 2 students).
  2. Prepare for and manage the FlexMath sessions (homework, quizzes, parent/student communications, etc.).
  3. Learn our rigorous curriculum quickly.
  4. Provide clear communications to parents about students progresses.
  5. Evaluate and document student’s progress.
  6. Foster an open, supportive, and fun environment for students to learn math.
  7. Always maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm.

This position is a paid contract position (a minimum of 1 year contract, Sep through early Jun) with competitive compensation for coaching Ellipsis Math classes (maximum of 12 students per class). 

Our ideal coach would have the competency, experiences and passion in working with elementary students in mathematics and willing to learn about our teaching approach, rigorous curriculum and materials.


This is also an exciting opportunity for college students who are working toward their teaching degrees as well as retired teachers and professionals who are looking for a direct part-time involvement in children mathematics education. You can work as little as 1 class a week to 6 classes a week based on proven experiences.​

  3. Have strong math skills up to Algebra to coach our elementary students.
  4. Ability to break down complex problems into simple explanations.
  5. Fast learner and willing to learn our rigorous curriculum quickly.
  6. Dedicated, patient and compassionate.
  7. Have some experiences in class management and working with a group of children between the ages of 6 to 15.
  8. Have authorization to work in the US.
  9. Will be checked for background through the school district.
  10. Have a Bachelor’s Degree or a Junior/Senior in College.

  2. Prepare for and manage the math classes (homework, quizzes, parent/student communications, etc.).
  3. Learn our rigorous curriculum quickly.
  4. Provide clear communications to parents about students progresses.
  5. Evaluate and document student’s progress.
  6. Foster an open, supportive, and fun environment for students to learn math.
  7. Always maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm.

Past coaching experience and/or participation at Math is Cool, Math Olympiad, MathCounts, or/and AMC 8 are a plus.
